it's a trap

Someone posted this on the elevator at work one day. That elevator never worked quite right. I got stuck on it once where it just took me up and down a few times. But another time the security guard got stuck for like an hour. Eventually the fire department had to be called. It really is a trap sometimes!

welding artwork

This here is some welding artwork produced by a friend of mine. He kinda just does this for a hobby but some of the stuff he does is really cool. Its all dripped aluminum I think. I'll post some more of these pics in the future. I don't think he titles his pieces but I call this one "chomp". Please check out his website: WeldingArtwork.com

old DMC graffiti pics

here are some more good old pics of graffiti in dallas. these pictures were taken on the backside of the old dallas music complex. there used to be some really amazing stuff out there by some talented artists. I have no clue if it is still there or not. i suppose i should go check it out one of these days. i just absolutely love the fish character at the end. i also wished i could have seen more pieces by marka27, like this one shown here.

old Matilda Street Bridge graffiti

These are some old pics of Dallas graffiti. This first post is of Matilda Street Bridge. I am pretty sure that these pieces no longer remain. Its a shame, it used to be a great graffiti wall but I think it is fenced off now. These pics are also from when I was back in high school. Several of these were from a graffiti crew called Infinity Crew or IC. Soner, Eon, Vert, Ucron are just some of the names in IC that used to paint in Dallas. Oh, how I miss seeing their pieces throughout Dallas.

Importing/Exporting DHCP scopes

The issue I was dealing with turned out to be with the DHCP server through Windows. It would not start. After reinstalling the DHCP server it was able to start but I had lost all of the DHCP scopes. Luckily there are identical servers that each provide DHCP services for their respective subnets and I was able to use the commands outlined below to import and export the settings from one server to another. Now I keep a copy of this export file available so I am able to recreate the DHCP scope settings easily at anytime.

Export example:
       netsh
       dhcp server \\servername
       export c:\temp\dhcpscopes all

Import example:
       netsh
       dhcp server \\servername
       import c:\temp\dhcpscopes all

DHCPLoc.exe to find rouge DHCP servers

I found this utility when attempting to find a way to confirm if another DHCP server is leasing addresses on a network. The main DHCP server (running on a Windows box) would not start and I wondered if it was due to another server handing out addresses. This utility worked like a charm. I didn't find any rouge servers out there but I see how this could be useful if you use multiple routers on a network and want to see if multiple ones are trying to assign addresses. The rest of my troubleshooting can be found here which includes some useful info on importing/exporting DHCP scopes.
